INGREDIENTS

  • 8 oz gin of choice

  • 16 oz tonic

  • 1 apple of choice, cubed

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 1 cup water

  • 5 cinnamon sticks, additional for garnish

  • Star anise for garnish

SPECIAL EQUIPMENT

  • 2 glass jars or bottle to store and infuse

Just because something has apple does not mean it can only be consumed between September - November! While this delicious version of the Gin & Tonic might come across as a Fall-themed cocktail - I believe it can be enjoyed at any time of the year.

DIRECTIONS

  1. Dice apple into cubes, removing seeds and core, and place into glass jar or bottle.

  2. Pour gin over apple cubes and place lid on tightly. Let infuse for at least 48 hours.

  3. Add 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water to a sauce pan. Add in 5 cinnamon sticks and bring to a boil. Let simmer until mixture has slightly thickened, about 10 minutes. (this will be a cinnamon simple syrup)

  4. Pour mixture into glass jar or bottle and place lid on tightly.

  5. After gin has infused, remove apple cubes and store gin in a clear glass jar or bottle.

  6. Add 2 oz infused gin and 1 tablespoon (or more to taste) cooled cinnamon simple syrup to a glass with ice and stir to combine. Top with 4 oz tonic.

  7. Add in cinnamon sticks and star anise or an apple slice for garnish. Cheers!
